Well, well, well…you’ve all been clamoring for it! And here it is! The “long-awaited” (jk) finale to the three-part epic tour of San Francisco’s (and North Beach’s) Broadway with Dick Boyd, one-time saloonkeeper (bar owner) as he shares his memories of the late 50’s-early 60’s on The City’s bawdy Broadway.
Dick drops knowledge about Finnochio’s, Enrico’s, El Matador, Vanessi’s, the Off Broadway (yes, later Plaka Taverna- check out that post), and we end up at The Beat Museum (currently closed for retrofitting).
(Look, if you happened to watch parts one and /or two, you might as well finish the series. Are you gonna watch “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” and not watch “The Dark Knight Rises”? Come on now…)

Denny – That was wonderful and brought back many memories of dozens of Doggie Diner visits. When I was with the SFPD we’d often send those unable to drive properly to an early morning feast at Doggie Diner to drink their heralded coffee and munch down a dog. No one ever refused and always thanked us when they showed up at the station hours later to pick up their keys. Those were the days! And BTW I so appreciated the shout out to Terry Sturdevant. Terry was a great person, very smart, a wonderful Crusader and loyal to a fault. I miss that guy always. Keep up the good work Denny!
